It’s never too late to revamp your diet. I’ve been more health-conscious in terms of what I eat for a year now, and I have no regrets about substituting junk food with healthier options. I also became a vegetarian a year ago, and prefer to eat completely plant-based meals, especially when I’m cooking for myself. When I’m stuck in a rut, there’s nothing like reading my favorite healthy and plant-based food blogs, books, or apps to keep me inspired and motivated. I love vegan baking blogs, but I wanted to share a list of health-conscious plant-based foodies to follow. Because while indulging in treats is an important part of life, it’s not something I think we need as much motivation for – if ya know what I mean.
If you’re looking for everyday health food inspiration, here’s a round-up of 4 top healthy and plant-based foodie bloggers, authors, and social media mavens to check out. Whether you’re looking for healthy recipes for Meatless Mondays or are thinking of transitioning to a vegan or plant-based lifestyle, you’re bound to find something that gets you excited about spending time in the kitchen. Their creativity, passion, and all-around glow would rub off on anyone.
More commonly known as Deliciously Ella, Ella Woodward rose to fame after her blog gained traction and she released her first cookbook last year. She holds a special place in my heart because she was my biggest inspiration during my transition to healthy eating. One of my favorite recipes from her would have to be her hearty cannellini bean stew, which is so quick and easy to make. Her second cookbook, which she recently launched, made me all giddy about stocking up on pantry essentials. I’m excited to try her black bean burgers and creamy carbonara. She also has a lot of porridge recipe ideas, which is always a win for me.

Olga from Fablunch is one of the first people I started following when started getting more interested in plant-based food. Her YouTube channel is my favorite for healthy and vegan recipes – they’re so fun to watch, and always make me want to get cooking. She also has a blog, where you can find all her recipes. Another awesome thing about Olga is that she’s developed these Fablunch containers. Besides being the cutest lunch containers, 10 school meals are provided to kids in need for every one sold. Now, that’s something I can get on board with.

This lovely lady is the creator of the Hippie Lane recipe app, which is full of awesome recipes and new takes on popular dishes and desserts. I found out about her from one of Amelia Liana‘s vlogs. At that time, the app focused on healthier dessert recipes, but now includes recipe packs for breakfast (“Rise and Shine”) and lunch and dinner (“Nourish and Glow”). The photography and layout of the app alone are enough to get anyone inspired! Check out Taline’s wonderful Instagram and be amazed at how creative some people can get with their food.
Angela, from the blog and best-selling cookbook Oh She Glows, is a plant-based recipe boss. She really takes plant-based cooking to another level – so point whoever says healthy eaters survive on lettuce in her direction. The recipes I tried from her book and blog were so delicious and hearty, it’s hard to believe they’re healthy. Besides being wholesome, all her concoctions are super hearty, and are sure crowd-pleasers.
