You might have been taught that you are unloveable the way you are. You are unworthy, undeserving of love if you don’t look a certain way or act a certain way. If you don’t meet their criteria of what it means to be of value.
You may have been taught that who you are at your core needs to be fixed or hidden. That the way you were born is “wrong.” So that till this day, you haven’t even met yourself.
But you are complete. You are worthy. And you are gifted in your own way. None of what other people say or think about you is about you. Your worth as a being does not lie in the hands of others. It does not lie in what other people think of you, and it does not depend on the size of your resume or your closet.
If they say you’re not smart enough, tall enough, funny enough, skinny or curvy enough… If they say you should be less like this and more like that… If they ask you why you can’t be more like what they want you to be… And especially if they say you’re “almost” worthy, that you would be pretty if only you lost five pounds or gained ten or grew your hair a couple more inches… This is for you.
You. You are always worthy. You are always enough. You are love. Love is where you came from, and no one can take that away from you.
